B i o g r a p h y

Musician born and bred in Birmingham. England on 13/12/1959. I spent most of my youth listening to music of many styles and influences. from Classical to progressive Rock, the latter being my ultimate favourite of all music, and still very much is today.

Was playing Harmonica at the age of 8 and played live performances in school plays and assembly halls, and at wedding parties, nothing really serious and soon lost interest in playing by the age of 11, and became an avid music collector and listener up until the age of 32 when I took up learning to play Guitar and Keyboards.

By 1994 I got together with a few friends and acquaintances and played in my first band. Though this was a very short lived affair and we only got to play live twice in a talent contest held at our local library. The 1st time being an audition to get to the last 16 for the final, to which we passed, and the 2nd on the night in question in front of a packed library of 200 people. We did not win nothing, but it was a very good experience.

The following year in 1995 I joined a rock blues band at first as the keyboard player, and later took over as the front man on vocals, which enabled me to put my Harmonica skills back into practice. I must admit I was never a good keyboard player at this time, and had spent many of days singing at Free & Easy's and Karaoke well before my days with any band, and brought in an extra guitarist to take over the the role of the keyboards which suited the band much better for the material we was playing at the time, mainly covers of Rock and Blues well known numbers and some of our own material to which I myself contributed a lot to with the lyrics and vocal line.

The band came to an halt after 6 years in 2001 having gone through many line up changes and I decided to knock bands on the head, and do my own thing. We had some great times though I must admit and got to play many gigs around our own town of Birmingham. For me it's easy to get a band together, but keeping everyone happy is another story.

Today Lee Lucas very much works on the studio production side of music, by composing material using his instruments as tools and devices to create music with, and is very versatile with his own style of music.  He often works on the electronic side of things with his keyboard skills in a creative way and released his first album Ancient Ruins Of Atlantis which is a musical concept story based on Atlantis back in the Beginning of January 2013.

This was followed by his 2nd ambient electronic album entitled ...and They Marched Through The Rain, and a 3rd album consisting of his piano solos entitled Piano Pieces. He is now currently working on The Lee (jack Jones) Lucas Project to where he wants to create more in the way of being his own band, with the use of his new tools consisting of electric guitar, bass and drums. to where he wants to work on new songs and his old songs done more in the style of rock and blues.
